Coricraft Blogger Couch Challenge
Ant and I have had a really weird journey with couches. When we first moved in together, we were the proud owners of one very old, very worn leather couch that used to belong to his parents. We loved that couch, but it wasn’t in the best shape and eventually it fell apart. Around that time, a friend of mine made plans to move overseas, and we were lucky enough to buy her second hand L-shaped couch. Again, we loved it, and paired with the tiny office couch we inherited when my dad moved his offices, we had a couple of comfy seats in our house, but that was the problem – there were just a couple, as both couches were tiny. Fast forward a little later (I know right, who the flip goes into this much detail about couches?!) and my friend Kath mentioned that she had a nice big couch sitting in their garage that they didn’t use anymore. We swopped out one of the smaller couches for her big one, and that’s how things have been ever since. The point of this whole couch lowdown (apart from the obvious fact that I’m super passionate about a comfortable space to sit) is that I’ve come to appreciate the joy of a really lovely couch, and how it can change your entire home space. So when Coricraft asked me to take part in the Coricraft Blogger Couch Challenge, I was super excited.
The premise was simple – three bloggers (myself, She Said and Lucky Pony) picked three couches out of a hat, and were given about an hour to decorate a room around them. If you’ve read my blog post about the Coricraft Kramerville Store (or visited the store itself!) you’ll know that it was designed with specific ‘apartments’ that are decorated to look like a real apartment so you can see what all the products would look like in an actual home. We were each given one of these ‘apartments’ and free reign over the store to make it look like our own.
Guys, ITS LIKE PLAYING THE SIMS BUT IN REAL LIFE. It was so much fun, I wanted to stay there all day and do every single room. I randomly selected the Sahara couch, which is 100% genuine leather and a delicious dark chocolate brown colour. It features iconic scroll-shaped arms and is a bit of a modern update on a classic shape – Coricraft describes it as the perfect choice if you want something brand new, yet traditional. To balance out the dark colour of the couch, I paired it with light greys, bare pine, and the occasional pop of blue and white. I was really happy with how the room worked out – can’t you see this fitting into my house perfectly?!
The best part about all of this (WELL DONE FOR READING TO THE END) is that you can now go and have a look at all the rooms and Anna-Belle, Angie, and I created, and then vote for your favourite one! (Read as: vote for mine. Please) Just for voting, you stand a chance of winning a R2,500 Coricraft voucher from me, or a R500 voucher from Coricraft. How great is that?! Honestly, you will not have a hard time spending that cash in their beautiful stores.
To vote, just go to THIS FACEBOOK POST and comment on the room you like – mine is Room A. At the end of the competition, I’ll randomly select someone who commented to be the prize winner, and you’ll be hop-skip-jumping your way to some retail therapy at Coricraft. Yay!
Thanks so much for letting me take part in this Coricraft – it was an absolute blast!
