Get Pinning and WIN with Dulux
If you’re obsessed with Pinterest, colour and DIY (like I am) you’ll be flipping out (like I am) over the fact that Dulux is launching their Pinterest account in South Africa – how awesome is that?!
They asked a couple of style bloggers to help them out by building a board around a colour that was specially chosen for us. I got Tarragon Glory 4, an exciting green-yellow colour and chose my incredible sister Jess to be my pinning buddy. Jess is the perfect person for a project like this – not only is she a Pinterest enthusiast like me, but our styles are also quite different yet completely complimentary.
To get ourselves in the mood we headed over to Sorbet to get Dulux-inspired manicures – I went for a dark grey, with bright green ring fingers to match my Pinterest board. Having a sister to enjoy stuff like this with really is the greatest gift.
At first I was a little apprehensive about the colour – it’s so bright and my apartment is pretty much all greys and whites and blues. But as soon as I started looking at it, I pretty much fell in love with it. As Jess said,
“It’s actually such a versatile colour. If someone had said to me that it goes with everything, I wouldn’t have believed it. But as soon as you start looking, you see that it really compliments so many things – if really lifts greys and blacks and whites, and yet it also really sets off hot pinks and bright yellows.”
She’s completely right. My favourite thing about this trend ended up being how people have used it as a feature colour to highlight certain areas, especially when used as the colour for your front door. I’ve already told Ant that I want to paint our garden door this colour one day.
Head over to my board and let me know what you think about the colour!
The best part is that you could WIN one of two Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 hampers just by interacting with the board, and the more you interact, the higher your chances of winning. So be sure to follow the board, repin, comment, and like, and you could be snapping away. These cameras are absolutely incredible!
Yours in colour,
