House and Leisure Night Market
Last night we headed over to the House and Leisure Night Market at the Rosebank Rooftop Mall. I’ve been pretty vocal about the fact that I love a good market, and it was great to go and see so many lovely things created by talented and passionate South African creators (and obviously stuff our faces with great food and beer – no surprises there.)
There were loads of new stalls and brands that I haven’t come across before, and lots of wonderful things to buy, so head over there if you’re free this evening for their second night. When I got home I was buzzing with excitement over all the amazing people I’d met, and I had to quickly scribble down notes on the back of their business cards to make sure I didn’t forget any of them.
I feel really strongly that we all need to be making an effort to support local designers, entrepreneurs, and creators, and events like this one are perfect for doing just that. Instead of spending money on a designer dress this month, why not buy a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, hand-made South African creation instead? Chances are it’ll be for a fraction of the price too.
You can buy tickets for tonight at the door and they’ll be open from 4:30pm to 9pm, so you can get some dinner there too.
Let me know if you manage to go and, if so, did you buy anything?
