KAMERS Joburg – Autumn 2015
Many of you will know from a couple of my previous posts that I’m a little obsessed with the KAMERS pop-up market that comes around every so often, and it’s currently taking place in Joburg. Laid out in the beautiful hallways, quads, and halls of St. John’s College in Houghton (trust me, there are few things prettier than the contrast of old buildings and new creations), it’s full to bursting with a lot of old favourites and some gorgeous new designers too. Naturally, I spent the better part of today there taking photos and drinking champers and quickly burning through my paycheque (totally worth it.)
One of my favourite things about KAMERS is that they purposefully set out to, “boost local SA design and entrepreneurship,” and as a South African entrepreneur myself, it’s so exciting to see all these incredible creatives doing what they love best – and doing it so well!
And because it’s a lovely long weekend, you’ve still got a couple of days to drop in and have a look at everything – it runs from the 23rd to the 27th of May, and it’s really cheap at R50 for students, pensioners, and online tickets, and R70 for everyone else at the door.
