Painting the town with Dulux
It’s funny, but I never really planned for my blog to be so DIY-centric. Though I’ve always been interested in and inspired by beautiful spaces, I didn’t fully understand my own home-making abilities until Ant and I moved into a place that is all our own, and suddenly we were spending all (and yes, I mean all) of our evenings together showing each other idea’s we’d found on Pinterest (translate to: me showing him ideas I’d fallen in love with on Pinterest, him promising to make them for me.)
Earlier this year I did some work with the amazing people over at Dulux South Africa – I love them because they’re clearly so passionate about what they do, and they create such beautiful products that can really change an entire space so easily.
Their newest creation, the Dulux Visualizer App, is pretty damn amazing. You download the app, access the camera, and it helps you to see what a room/wall/area would look like in a new colour without you having to invest in any paint! It’s amazing.
I’ve partnered with Dulux this week to showcase this awesome new app and to give away a beautiful room makeover worth R3,500 – how exciting is that! Scroll down to the bottom of this post for details on how to enter.
We jumped in our car and headed out to beautiful Melville to try out the app – I love the colour and vibrance of Melville and I thought it would be the perfect place trial even more colour. Seeing as summer is on its way and I’ve got an extra spring in my step from all the sunshine, I decided to go with some bright yellows like ‘Blazing Star,’ ‘Sunflower Symphony,’ and ‘Buttercup Fool.’ How great are those names?! If someone wants to give me a job coming up with paint names I would totally be keen.
We made a couple videos so that you can see how it works – take a look!
You can see it works on black walls too!
Download the app, give it a try, and let me know what you think!
Now for the good stuff…
Take a picture of the room or wall that you’d like to paint inside the app (get creative!) and upload it to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook using the hashtag #DuluxVisualizerZA
Don’t forget to tag me @itsLucySarah and @DuluzSA when you upload it so that I can count your entry.
Competition closes at midnight on Saturday November 28th and I’ll announce the winner in the morning of Monday November 30th.
Can’t wait to see the amazing things you guys create!
P.S. In case you’re still confused, here’s a little video from the lovely Dulux people to show you how it works.
