Spring on the Zoo Lake Boats
So, it’s official: I am well and truly obsessed with off the shoulder tops. You might know from my Instagram (seriously, follow me, I promise I’m fun) that it’s kinda all I’ve been wearing for the past few months, and my shoulders are much happier (and browner) for it. Paired with a choker (another trend I’m obsessing over) this is currently my go-to look, and you can wear it with jeans or shorts or whatever the hell you want because you’re a strong independent woman and you make your own rules, dammit. Ant had the day off work yesterday, so we took a little time to go enjoy the sunshine with a little paddle and a picnic in one of the Zoo Lake boats, and I wore this lush new top from Mr Price, paired with this ALL TIME FAVOURITE Catarzi Hat from ASOS, a black velvet Urban Outfitters choker, and a pair of high-waisted denim shorts and leather sandals from H&M. Yay for Spring!
If you haven’t before, I seriously suggest you head out to the boats at Zoo Lake next time it’s sunny and you’re looking for something lovely to do in Joburg. Apart from being a surprisingly good workout (take that, Kayla’s BBG arms day!) it’s also a lot of fun and makes for a few guaranteed laughs as you struggle not to row into the giant fountain in the middle of the lake. Plus there are some seriously crazy geese swimming around who threaten to bite your fingers off and keep things a little interesting. Rowing costs R10 per adult (#BARGAIN) and, as far as I can tell, there’s no limit to how long you can spend on the water.
Shop this striped Oakridge top from Mr Price here (it’s only R99.99!) and let me know – where should I be hunting for more off the shoulder goodness?
