I’ve been wanting to write about The FIX for a while, but the problem is that my clothes from there are always in the wash because I wear them ALL THE DAMN TIME. When they officially launched in South Africa I was lucky enough to go along to the opening in Cape Town, and I’m not gonna lie, I was totally floored by all the beautiful wonderful things. If you’re a normal human being living on a budget (cough cough, like me) it can be pretty hard to find lovely pieces that are both affordable and look good, and I’ve gotta admit I sometimes get pretty tired of visiting the same bargain shops over and over and over again. So it was really exciting to discover a new store that had so many things that I wanted, and at really affordable prices. Guys, I mean like REALLY affordable prices. R80 for a shirt kind of prices.
When we headed out to Mountain Sanctuary Park last week I decided to take a few pics of some of my favourite pieces from The FIX. This denim trucker jacket has become an absolute staple in my closet, which I purposefully bought in a large size because I love the way it swamps me a bit. I love pairing it with super skinny jeans and heels, or a mini skirt and tights. Denim is so damn versatile. I am literally wearing a denim jacket and a swimming costumer here.
This open backed khaki shirt isn’t something I’d usually go for, but spurred on by my beautiful friend Rowena from Secrets and Stilettos, I decided to give it a try and it’s become one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. It’s got the longer length style that’s so popular at the moment, but with a fully open back. Its got a nice formal feel, but with a real flirty aspect. Again, I’m wearing it with a swimming costume here (GUYS HOW RIDICULOUS AM I) but I would normally wear it with high-waisted jeans or something similar.
This necklace is also a favourite of mine from the store, and I’ve worn it a few times backwards like this to create an amazing detail down your back. Again, it cost less than R100.
Not featured here are two of my favourite pairs of shoes from The FIX, which you can check out here and here. SHINY SHOES ARE LIFE. The caramel loafers are genuinely some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned, and they look so great on – I’ve had so many people ask me where I got them from. And the best part? They cost less than R100.
Though The FIX don’t have an online store YET, you can take a little gander at their new arrivals here and get a feel for what their fashion catalogue is like. Do yourself a favour and sign up for their mailing list so that you’re the first one to know about new things, and then pop into one of their stores – here’s a handy store locator to help you find your nearest one.
Thank you to The FIX for supporting Lucy Sarah and for making such lovely lovely lovely affordable clothes.
