The Ultimate Forever New Winter Coat
For somewhere who lived in one of the coldest parts of England for a good long while, I’m surprisingly terrible at winter. I’m a summer baby – get me a pair of short shorts and some Ray Bans and I can get anything done. So when winter rolls around, I can be fairly useless – the list of things I easily get done when the weather sucks can be narrowed down to: make tea, lie in bed, cuddle my cats, complain. Impressive, right? One of the wisdoms that I picked up when living in the UK was this though: invest in a damn good coat, and your winter will be way way better. Honestly, if you’re wearing a really warm (and beautiful) coat, you’ll find that getting through the day is a lot easier. Plus, you’ll look great doing it – WIN WIN. So, armed with my knowledge of the power of a good winter coat, I set off to find something to get me through the winter, and found these three absolute beauties from Forever New.
The thing about Forever New is that, along with being stylish and comfortable, their clothes are beautifully made, so they’ll last you years. When I went into their store, two things struck me right away: the first was the range that the bigger stores have of coats. From bombers to parkas to military coats and wraps, there’s pretty much something to keep you toasty this season no matter your style. And the second thing was the quality of the coats available. I was immediately drawn to the wool blends – that extra insulation is a total game changer. I picked up three of my favourites in three different styles, but stuck to light colours – who said winter has to be all about dark colours?
The Megan Maxi Coat
Megan Maxi Coat, and it’s so effortless – I felt like it could go with pretty much anything. Forever New has the colour listed as ‘champagne pearl’ and it fits perfectly with the way the coat feels: luxurious, chic, and fashionable, but also incredibly versatile. I’d love to mix this up for a work function or date night. Shop the coat in store or here – it’s on sale!
The Montana Cape
Montana Cape. Guys, you might not believe this, but I’ve never actually owned an honest-to-goodness cape. The last few years I’ve been all about the trench cape, the bolero, and the poncho, but I’ve never had anything this fitted before, and I LOVE it. Warm, flattering, and its got that whole ‘draping my coat over my shoulders which looks cool but isn’t super practical’ thing built in. Though probably not best for a blizzard, this coatcape (cope? caat?) could be perfect with a little layering. Shop it in store or here – also currently reduced.
The Lena Maxi Coat
Lena Maxi Coat is possibly my favourite discovery this winter. In the words of my wonderful sister, it’s the comfort and ease of wearing a dressing gown, but elevated to this whole new chic level. I mean, have you ever heard anything more awesome than that?! Combined with the tailored cut, detailed stitching along the front, and the oversized lapel, it’s such a timeless piece. I can see myself wrapping up in this loveliness for years to come. Pick it up in store, or just pop on over and buy it online here.
If you hadn’t realised already, one of the definite highlights of this post is that you can pick all these pieces up online. June has marked the launch of Forever New’s online store, which means you can clock through right now and buy these beauties from the comfort of your couch (or bed, or desk, or bath – I don’t judge where you read my stuff from guys.)
Thank you Forever New for supporting Lucy Sarah!
